The Way We Grow Food Matters

Growing a healthier and more hopeful future starts with how we grow our food. Our dedicated growers’ sustainable agricultural practices — from soil sampling to drip irrigation — help us produce our fruits and vegetables with less waste and impact. It all starts with a seed that is carefully cultivated using traditional breeding methods. No GMOs here — just 135+ years of patience and know-how.

Working Hand-in-Hand with Our Growers

Our produce is mostly grown on a community of farms across the U.S. and Mexico, many of whom have been working with us for three, four or even five generations — and some for more than 100 years. 95% of the vegetables grown on these farms will travel less than 75 miles to canning facilities — meaning nearly all vegetables are picked and packed within hours.

We partner with our growers to help control inputs, such as the amount of nitrogen or minerals used to fertilize crops and orchards, which in turn, reduces the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.
