Del Monte strives to be a good neighbor and responsible citizen by supporting the communities where our employees live and work.
We provide both direct financial support as well as product donations to assist a diverse set of philanthropic organizations. We are proud to support our valued partners, whose missions align with our own Company Vision—Nourishing Families. Enriching Lives. Every Day™.—and promote health, wellness and stronger family connections.
In 2010, we contributed $3.6 million to charitable organizations and 3 million lbs. of product to Feeding America.
To further support our communities and employees, we offer employees the option to take one paid day off per year to volunteer for the non-profit organization of their choice. Employees may also request and receive a matching donation to their charitable financial contributions.
Del Monte supports organizations that are strategically aligned with the Companys vision and benefit the communities where Del Monte offices and facilities are located. Please click here to apply for a financial donation.
Formerly named ‘America’s Second Harvest’, Feeding America is the nation’s largest nonprofit organization addressing hunger. Each year the Feeding America network provides food assistance to more than 25 million low-income people facing hunger in the United States, including more than 9 million children and nearly 3 million senior citizens, through their network of more than 200 food banks throughout the country. These food banks support about 63,000 local charitable agencies that distribute food directly to Americans in need by way of some 70,000 programs including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, and after-school programs.
Del Monte Foods is proud to be a long-standing supporter of this leader in hunger-relief charity work.
The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is a non-profit organization that collects and distributes food through a 350+ member network in 11 counties in southwestern Pennsylvania. Through food solicitation, fundraising, special events, and community partnerships, the Food Bank gathers food and distributes around 18 million pounds of food per year through outlets such as soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, after school programs, senior centers, neighborhood food assistance agencies, emergency/disaster feeding sites, among other specialized programs. They are a member of Feeding America.
Del Monte Foods has been a supporter of the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank for several years now, including sponsorship of a number of events including the Fall FoodShare and Empty Bowls.
The San Francisco Food Bank is a critical service organization in the San Francisco Bay Area, providing food to over 145,000 people every year through 600+ community food programs. This year they will contribute more than 36 million pounds of food towards their mission to end hunger in San Francisco. Food is distributed by the San Francisco Food Bank through three channels direct distribution through neighborhood pantries, opening their warehouse to agencies to shop for selected foods, and relief in the event of a citywide disaster or crisis.
Del Monte Foods is a longstanding partner of the San Francisco Food Bank and has provided food staples through the Food Bank to thousands of seniors, individuals, and families unable to make ends meet, especially during the holiday season. This year, Del Monte provided over 90,000 cans of vegetables to aid the Food Banks initiative to provide 26,500 low-income households with the groceries to make a home-cooked holiday meal.

Del Monte gives back to our community — including our very first community. We played a major role in revitalizing the historical waterfront area of San Francisco — THE CANNERY at Del Monte Square.
THE CANNERY at Del Monte Square is one of San Francisco's most treasured places. Located at the foot of Columbus Street overlooking the San Francisco Bay, and originally built in 1907, THE CANNERY was once the location of a Del Monte peach cannery, which was the largest in the world.
