We offer specific developmental programs to help employees meet organizational objectives, enhance their careers, and maintain a consistently high level of performance. These opportunities include:
- Employees can access more than one hundred e-learning courses on a variety of topics. The Del Monte University also offers live classroom training for a more interactive learning experience.
- Managers provide internal learning opportunities by working closely with employees to structure appropriate on-the-job activities to meet identified developmental needs.
- External programs and professional certifications are provided at seminars, conferences or other specialized workshops.
- External university courses are available through the Del Monte Employee Education Assistance Program. Under the proĂisions of this program, eligible employees may receive up to $5,250.00 annually in financial assistance for approved courses of study at accredited educational institutions.
Health and Safety
The health and safety of our employees are of paramount concern to DelMonte. We strive to provide a workplace free of preventable hazards and to comply with all laws and regulations governing workplace safety and health, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). We believe that most accidents and injuries are preventable, and we require that all employees follow the Company’s health and safety rules and procedures to avoid needless injury. As a result of our preventative measures, our total incident rate for calendar year 2011 was 2.91. Our managers and supervisors are expected to keep abreast of and understand the workplace safety laws and regulations that apply to their areas of responsibility and ensure compliance with these provisions.
Del Monte also offers an annual on-site vaccine clinic and Health Fair each year, and encourages all employees to live an active lifestyle, by providing on-site fitness facilities in many locations. There is also a designated Health and Wellness team that keeps employees educated on and involved in monthly activities ranging from healthy snack breaks to yoga classes.
DOM

- Director, Demand Planning
Dom is a Director, Demand Planning in the Supply Chain division.
In this role, Dom is responsible for overseeing both the Demand Planning and Data Management teams in the Pittsburgh Corporate Service Center.
Prior to joining Del Monte Foods in October 2002, Dom was with Heinz for eight years.
Gregory
- Pittsburgh, PA
- Director, Pet Co-Manufacturing
Gregory joined Del Monte Foods in October 2007 and is a Director, Pet Co-Manufacturing in the Co-Manufacturing department in Supply Chain.
In this role, Gregory is responsible for finding manufacturers and setting up the supply chain for new, innovative pet products that are to be made outside of Del Monte’s current production facilities. He also manages the manufacture of all of the Company’s College Inn broth products.
Helen
- Pittsburgh, PA
- ETL Developer
Helen joined Del Monte Foods in October 2008 and is currently an ETL Developer on the Enterprise Data Warehouse team. In this role, Helen is responsible for developing and supporting data integration processes that are responsible for populating data in the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
