Through our “Farm2Family” Corporate Giving program we provide both direct financial support as well as product donations to assist a diverse set of philanthropic organizations.
We are proud to support our valued partners, whose missions align with our own Company Vision—Nourishing Families. Enriching Lives. Every Day.®—and promote health, wellness and stronger farm to family connections.
Our facilities and corporate employees are actively involved in contributing time and money to organizations that serve:
- Medical research
- Natural disaster
- Special needs
- Youth activities
- Veteran support
To further support our communities and employees, we offer employees the option to take one paid day off per year to volunteer for the non-profit organization of their choice. Employees may also request and receive a matching donation to their charitable financial contributions.
OUR PARTNERS INCLUDE:
Since 2015, we contributed close to 10 million lbs. of product to Feeding America or local food banks.
Feeding America® recently recognized Del Monte as a Leadership Partner for the first time. From Fiscal 2015 through today, we have donated almost 10MM pounds of food to Feeding America.
We are proud to be a long-standing supporter of Feeding America®, the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States. Feeding America (FA) is the nationwide network of 200 food banks that leads the fight against hunger in the United States. 1 in 7 people and 1 in 5 kids struggle with hunger in America. Through our efforts with FA, we help provide food to more than 46 million people through 60,000 food pantries and meal programs in communities across America. Feeding America also supports programs that improve food security among the people they serve; educates the public about the problem of hunger; and advocates for legislation that protects people from going hungry.
Wisconsin Field to FoodBank
We also voluntarily participate in the Second Harvest Field to FoodBank program where our carrot growers grow carrots specifically for the central Wisconsin food banks. This program was developed in response to the to help serve local Wisconsin communities who were impacted by the 2008 financial collapse. Along with our can manufacturer who donates the cans, the growers who donate the crops, and the truckers who donate the hauling time and fuel; we donate the processing time and equipment to deliver safe and nutritious products in an area where we do business. Together, we have collectively grown the program from 3,000 cases in 2008 to over 20,000 cases in 2014.
Check out this video detailing the program (August 2015). By the end of 2015, Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin's Field to Foodbank program will generate 1.65 million pounds of healthy produce for those they serve.
